Chatty Ol' Me
About Eleanor & Park - Here's my interpertation of it without giving anything away: Eleanor just moved to town, and really has intentions to just fly under the radar. But Park invites her to sit next to him on the bus to defend her from taunting, and as the weeks go by, their relationship changes from total strangers to friends. Filled with breathing metaphors and figurative language that enjoy slipping into the crevices of the story, Rainbow Rowell (author) writes a beautiful story that seemed more real in the way of not sugar coating a broken red head girl and an Asian boy trying to find himself as their paths intersect. I enjoyed this book very much, as I hope you do too!
- Hey guys! First off, sorry about the quality of the book cover. I couldn't seem to find an image large enough that didn't look distorted. But I think it's a really cute cover, and it absolutely makes me want to have that type of connection through music with someone. The way she (Rainbow Rowell) described the two people slowly bonding over things like that and comic books, (more on that later), gave me the urge to run up to (not literally) my crush and say hey, let's find out what we have in common, all the intricate stitching and embroidery that makes up the patchwork quilt of a person's life. That's what it made me really want to do: get to know somebody better, because you don't know as much about them as you thought you did. And out of that knowledge may blossom a friendship, or even something a bit more. Now on to the description.
