Even if you aren't the sporty type, swimming is a great way to get in exercise. I find that it's a lot more fun than going to the gym, and a lot more well rounded too. It's also good because even if you don't have a pool, I'm sure there is a community pool that you can go to. Swimming is also beneficial because it works out a lot more areas of your body instead of just focusing on one area. So I would definitely recommend swimming :)
Keep your stick low!! When I say low, I mean literally touching the ground. The lower the better. It helps stop the ball, make it harder for the other team to get around you, and you are more prepared. Simple, but affective.
Whether you like beach volleyball or indoor volleyball, there are a few major things you must do.
1) Always keep your hands in a fist when you go to hit the ball. (unless you are setting it) Otherwise it's a carry, and you will get called for it. 2) Hit the ball with your wrists and/or lower arm. 3) Don't hit the ball too hard or too soft, place it where you want it to go. 4) Have fun! In the Sports Blog, there will be tried and true tips on any and every sport. From softball to rock climbing to yoga, we shall try to give you some pointers. Sports are great exercise, but are also meant to be fun. We will give you ideas on how to make them more enjoyable!
