Hey! So I actually read this book right when it came out a while ago, and am just now realizing that I never did a comprehensive review on it! So here you go. This latest John Green installment was definitely pleasant to read. Some parts where more gripping than others, but overall reading it left me with a cozy feeling. The characters were well-developed, as they are in all John Green books. I have to be honest, it wasn't his best piece of work I've ever read, but I'm still glad I gave it a go! It was suspenseful, mysterious, and captured the way it feels to be a young person in 2018. I commend John for always knowing the right marks to hit with his demographic, and if you enjoyed his other works you will most definitely enjoy Turtles All The Way Down! |

A Thousand Splendid Suns was absolutely incredible. It was really different from the usual types of books I read (YA), but I actually really enjoyed it. One pro tip though; don't read this on the beach like I did because you will cry. This book was so well-written and the pacing was never too slow going. At every chapter I wanted to find out what happened next. You become really attached to the characters, and it is devastating to find out their fates. But the even more devastating part is that these events actually happened. Not to the characters in the book, but to people in real life. And the saddest part is that this crisis in the middle east is still not over today. After I finished A Thousand Splendid Suns, all I could think about was the ridiculous amount of suffering these people have to go through. I would definitely recommend this book to everyone, because these stories are worth hearing and the book was just so memorable. It's one of those novels that everyone should read. Two days ago at 10:00 in the morning, you could find me curled up in a ball on my bedroom floor, sobbing. 180 seconds had me in tears, because the ending was so incredibly sad and beautiful. I loved this book. For the first few chapters, I wasn't quite sure of what I thought of it, but a little ways in, I absolutely fell in love with it. 180 seconds by Jessica Park is about a quiet college student named Allison, and her journey through junior year. It's not what you'd expect, though. I don't want to give too much away, since half the thrill of the book is in absorbing her emotions. But I'll just say Park does a beautiful job of creating scenes. For example, Allison has this perfect fall day, and the way it was written made me feel like I was there. When I jumped back to reality, I started making plans experience some elements of that fall day. The book actually reminded me a bit of Girl Online, only a lot more mature. I really want everyone to read this book, because it has so much more substance than a silly beach read. It's a refreshing blend of bubbly, tragic, hopeful, and informative. 10/10 would recommend. Hope you enjoyed! :) By now I'm pretty sure everybody has read Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, but I thought I'd do a review anyway. I feel like you can never go wrong with Harry Potter, this book included. It was so refreshing to visit old characters in a new setting. I definitely enjoyed certain aspects of the book more than others, like how JK attempted to break down Slytherin stereotypes with Albus and Scorpius. I thought that was putting the story to good use, and shined a light on a topic that needed to be addressed within the Potter community. The release of this novel also totally increased my excitement for the upcoming Wizarding World film Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. All in all, this recent Harry Potter content makes me so happy, and I hope you enjoyed :) Hey guys! So this book, Everything Everything by Nicola Yoon, is absolutely amazing! The story follows 18 year old Maddy, who's literally allergic to everything. I mean everything. It's so drastic of a disease that she hasn't been out of her house in 17 years. She lives an average life with her mom and caretaker, and has learned to wish for nothing she can't have. That is, until Olly moves in next door. This heartbreaking story makes you laugh and cry in all the right places, and the ending of this book contains one of the biggest plot twists I think I've ever read. The pacing to this story is really good as well, and I never found myself bored in any parts. If you're looking for an interesting, gripping summer read, this is the book for you. Hope you enjoyed :)
#GIRLBOSS was such an inspiring and incredible read! The author, Sophia Amoruso, has such a raw, unfiltered attitude about life. Her perspective is quite refreshing, and that combined with her unlikely true story is the heart of the book. She is the founder and CEO of the online store and company Nasty Gal. She shares her story of how she got to where she is (which includes a lot of unexpected stories), and advice on life and business. #GIRLBOSS is smart, sassy, real, and professional all at once, and it completely deserves all the hype it's receiving. It was a fun read, but also enlightening. I highly recommend it! hope you enjoyed :) Girl OnlineI first read this book last November when it came out. I couldn't put it down and never wanted the story to end! I absolutely loved all the cute details, from Penny's photography to Elliot's fashion to Tom's protectiveness, everything was so nice. It made me feel good. It was also very relatable, in terms of school, friends, family, and life in general. I loved all the descriptive touches like lighting a scented candle, turning on the fairy lights, and getting into a onesie (literally what I do to chill out). I loved getting to fall in love with the characters, and Noah's rock-god-tastic personality. I adore this book, it's in my top five favorite of all time for sure, go check it out! You can also check out the author, Zoe Sugg (aka Zoella on YouTube) here _. She's absolutely one of my favorite YouTubers of all time, and I love her (newly re-launched) blog_! She's one of my style inspirations, and I even made her Confetti Cupcakes. She's a really good role model for girls, and I also recommend you check her out:) Girl Online On TourAlmost a whole year later, the sequel came out! In anticipation for it, I reread Girl Online, and I got even more excited for this to come in the mail :) Of course I preordered it! This book has all my favorite characters from the first one, but also a lot of new ones that I was interested to meet! Penny goes on tour with Noah, her singer boyfriend, and just so many things happen!! I was an emotional rollercoaster reading this. One chapter I would be clapping for joy, the next literally heart racing because it was so suspenseful. It's really gripping and holds your attention the whole book! AND THE ENDING. OH MY GOD. I won't give anything away, but I was so happy and on edge until the very last paragraph, let me tell you! You guys have to read this book, I'm so glad I did and will definitely be rereading it and Girl Online in the near future :) Hey guys! So I've been on a big book kick recently, meaning that you should expect more of these posts to come in the near future. I don't know how I manage to find time to read since my schedule is always so jam packed, but somehow it happens. Anyway, this book first caught my eye because of the beautiful cover. It made me want to pick it up! They say don't judge a book by it's cover, and for this one that rule totally applies. It seemed like a fairly sad coming of age book for most of the story, but then the heartbreak and truth really kicked in towards the end. It wasn't all sad though, so don't let that turn you away from it. It involves twins, art, a cute British guy, and an amazing sculptor. I really highly recommend it and it was one of those books where I literally could not stop reading it! I just love those, don't you? Talk to you guys soon, xx Guess what? Another Youtuber released a book! Haha but I think it's incredible how many of them have the opportunity to release one. Connor Franta (from YouTube channel Connor Franta) just released a book 3 days ago, and I managed to snag the last copy in my Barnes & Noble! Yay! I absolutely loved the book, especially how raw and unfiltered it felt like Connor was expressing his experiences and advice. All of the pictures were stunning, and even if you've never heard if Connor, this book is a great way to get to know him! I recommend it to everyone!:) Keep in mind I randomly thought this up and that there's no study or anything of the sort. I have this thought that the one thing every single human being has experienced is nature. Even is we've only read about the empowering sycamores or the way a flower has the ability to grow on water. We have as humans not just a vivid imagination, but one that can travel through worlds as we create them. And in those worlds, they all have or take note of lack of it. What happens, no, needs to be in every unknown world? Nature. Think of the movies. They contain different worlds. Think of Wall~E, Pocahontas 2, and The Devil Wears Prada. At some point in each of those movies (typically the climax) the main character has an epiphany, a realization in which they come to terms of missing something. In these three movies, they're all lacking some form of nature they previously nurtured. Plants, which are a type of physical nature the kind you can dream or imagine, the spirit of nature, one of the only or many correlations of physical to spiritual that actually has a connection to one another. And finally, human nature, the link between all three. It's sort of like the word "the" in writing; it connects things together. With human nature we can appreciate both in a way that only makes sense to us. I could say that there's a possibility that a hydrangea feels that way as well, but I'd rather not know. It's sort of like the way two completely different people with totally opposite backgrounds can learn to understand one another, because although it may seem like the two have nothing in common. Of course they do! Physical, spiritual, & human nature. Somehow, between those three, anyone can connect. And you know what? I'd really rather not know hydrangea has been thinking the same thing, because it's against all the natures. Maybe we're only supposed to connect with things on one level, & others two or three. But who knows. This is just my rambling theory. :)
