Between models, bloggers, Youtubers, and celebrities, there's an endless supply of accounts to follow to keep up with NYFW. One example of how I've gotten to experience NYFW was the Tommy Hilfiger Fall 2016 Show that was held at Pier 16. There was carnival food, rides, games, and not to mention the very nautical ready-to-wear Fall collection. It was so cool to see the show basically live, since Snapchat and Instastories are real-time. I didn't have to wait until the next day or even up to a week later to hear all about what happened. That's just one example of how social media made me feel included in NYFW. If you can't be there in person, then it's the next best thing.
Some of the people I follow on Instagram (and their Instastories especially) to keep up to date with the events and shows are: @natalieoffduty @amandasteele @luanna90 @people_style @theserenagoh @jamiejchung @voguemagazine @jessakae @sherrihill @margaret_zhang @tanyaburr @teenvogue @aloebella @lisadengler @pamelakatz
And some of the people I follow on Snapchat who are attending NYFW are: amandasteele24 , amberfillerup , ingrid.nilsen , tanyaburr
It's been so cool to see all the highlights of fashion week so far, including TommyxGigi, Alexander Wang partnering with Adidas originals, the Marissa Webb collection, and Christian Siriano including plus sized models in his show. I can't wait to watch the rest of NYFW unfold through social media, instead of sulking about how I'm not there. Hope you enjoyed :)
