Hey! Remember a while back ago how I did a book review of Everything Everything? And I loved the book? Well, I just saw the movie, and I have mixed feelings about it. The book was so incredibly captivating. It hooked me in and I never wanted to put it down. The movie did an accurate job of portraying the book plot wise, but something was missing. It may have been the score (soundtrack), it may have been the camera angles, but something was off. Visually, it was a very beautiful movie. All the colors popped off the screen and especially the scenes in Hawaii and New York were amazing. And the set department really did their job, because the more Maddy fell in love with Olly, the more color she wore and the more skin she showed. I got all the symbolism in that. And also with the score none (or not many, I can't remember) of the songs had lyrics until the climax of the movie in Hawaii. I get that too. But I guess my expectations were too high or something, because I left the theater slightly disappointed. I still believe if you read the book this movie is worth seeing, but maybe wait until it comes out on OnDemand or Netflix or something. I still really liked it, and I'm not here to bash it whatsoever. But in my opinion, in this case, the book was better than the movie.
