I saw this movie with my BFF at the end of June, and I never did a review on it. I know, it's a really late post, but I figured, why not? I'm sure some people didn't see it yet, and it's a funny movie.
Monster's University's story plot is basically how Mike and Sully met before Monster's Inc. They both go to the same college (MU) and a lot of things go down there. I don't want to give anything away, but let's just say they did NOT like each other when they first met. Monster's University is a movie which you don't want to miss, and is pretty funny and with a witty storyline. I'd definitely recommend this movie, no matter how old you are, because it's really interesting to see how it all began, and it's funny! Words cannot begin to describe how inspiring this movie was to me. It has so many great qualities that enhanced it, and they made the movie even more enjoyable to witness. I didn't say watch because it honestly didn't feel like I was just peeking into their world. It was that good of a movie. The Help was hilarious, touching, informative, and taught a great lesson. I give this movie 4 1/2 stars. Not 5 only because at a few times I didn't understand what was happening, but maybe that's because I'm only 13. Anyway, I highly recommend this movie to anyone who enjoys a dose of laughter, a dash of romance, two cups of courage, a large helping of lessons learned, and one tablespoon of doing the right thing. I hope y'all enjoy The Help like I did! In my school, fads with movie/book series come and go. First it was Harry Potter, then Twilight, and most recently Beautiful Creatures. Now that last one is the one Ii'm gonna talk about. This movie is really one you can't miss, especially if you read the book. The movie has a lot of different plot twists, so you're always on your toes. But it's a whole lot different from the book, so not to get confused, I suggest reading the book first. It'll help you understand the plot more, which is what i'll explain to you now. Ethan Wate lives in a small town in the South where everybody knows everybody and their business. Nothing ever changes, and there are no secrets. But the day Lena Duchannes moves to town, everything changes. It's quite a series that I love, so even if you ever get to a boring part in any of the books, power through. I promise that it gets much more interesting. Hope you enjoy! If you are looking for shows on TV from the seventies, this is one of them! My mom told me that everybody used to watch it, and that it had about 10 seasons. The concept of the show is one single middle aged man with three sons who marries a single middle aged woman with three daughters! The whole series is about what they do to come together as a family, as the Brady Bunch. It's a bit corny, but you'll love it :) (And don't forget Alice their housekeeper! She's a main character too.) If you are searching for classic musicals to watch, this is one of them. At first when you are watching it it's a bit hilarious to see tough gangs dancing and prancing around, but you get over it. Anyway, West Side Story is about the rivalry between two gangs:The Jets & The Sharks. It's an action filled romance with a very shocking ending. Have fun watching!
P.S.-Don't be alarmed with the first 15 minutes of the screen being funky colors and music. People back in 1961 made the movies that way and were more patient ;) Okay. So you've read the books, and now you want to see the movies. Let me tell you this: the first movie is just as good as the book!! :) If you haven't read the books before and you just want to see the movies, well you are missing out. In the book and movie, practically the same things happen, except just in more detail with the book of course. The story of Twilight is all about a girl named Bella Swan, and a boy named Edward Cullen. Bella's parents are divorced, and she lives with her mom. But when her mom remarries, Bella feels the urge to move in with her dad in Forx, WA. I won't tell you all that happens, but let's just say everything is not what it seems, even when you think you have it figured out. Twilight is definitely a movie you won't want to miss! I'd rate it 4 stars for being a new, unexpected, and utterly romantic movie.
Breakfast at Tiffany's is an old Audrey Hepburn classic. It's around 2 hours long, and for us modern girls, a bit hard to sit through. But if you do stick it out, the ending is one of the best I've seen in a long time. It's a romantic classic, and very old school Hollywood. I recommend this movie to anyone, even if you don't think you're going to like it. I was very skeptical about it, but soon loved it. Breakfast at Tiffany's is an unexpected joy. (a lot of famous songs came out of that movie too)
